This site is lousy with spammers.
I'm passionate about the arts and most of my time painting and drawing. My abilities have garnered official recognition in the form of awards, sales, and gallery representation. But above all these institutionalized accolades I get the most satisfaction from personally touching someone in a way that words often cannot.
My favorite art movements are Romanticism, Symbolism, Surrealism, and Pop Surrealism, Conceptual, and Outsider. I despise kitsch.
Intellectually, I'm enthralled with abstract concepts like aesthetics and philosophy (Existentialism and stoicism being two favorite schools). I feel that virtually any subject is worthy of exploration and strive for perpetual mental development.
My temperament tends towards the melancholic, and I see beauty in Vanitas elements such as ruins and cemeteries. I am an INFP. I consider myself psychologically androgynous and tire of the gender stereotypical in all its predictable qualities.
I am a bibliophile. History, poetry, and virtually anything. Other interests include computers, photography, and the occasional PC game (Games that challenge the medium's conventions, such as The Path and Pathologic, fascinate me).
Favorite artists: Zdzislaw Beksinski, Francis Bacon, Balthus, Edward Burne-Jones, Caspar David Friedrich, Otto Dix, James Ensor, Fernand Khnopff, Vilhelm Hammershoi, Edward Hopper, Edvard Munch, Claes Oldenberg, James Whistler, et al.
Favorite poets: Charles Baudelaire, Emily Dickinson, Philip Levine, Christina Rossetti, Charles Simic, Anne Sexton, and Mark Strand.

Finally, I exist in small town Pennsyltucky, so I'm reluctant to reveal myself. That truly is me in the photos, however obfuscated. Also, I'm apparently the only person in my Twin Peaks-esque small town (in terms of absurdity, less so on scenery and intrigue) on this site. Go figure.
