I'm a Southerner at heart, a New Yorker in spirit, and a Seattlite in reality. (Read: born & raised in Virginia, lived in New York city, moved to Seattle.) I'm currently working for the UW athletic department, with my free time devoted to reading, working out, hiking/exploring/road tripping, visiting friends and family back east, cooking, shopping, and photography.
I am not sure I bear any resemblance to any historical figure but I have been told I look like Fiona Apple. In personality? Churchill. Definitely. Appearance is somewhat important to me - I lived in New York too long to accept the Seattle hippie-grunge look. I think I'm pretty good-looking and I would want a potential partner to be somewhat attractive. If this sounds shallow and self-centered, perhaps it is. At least I'm honest.
I'm looking for someone to converse (or argue) with, preferably while hiking, drinking, eating, or driving. I like talking politics, history, current events, travel, food, old movies, cooking, celebrity gossip, books, and bands. Right now I'm interested in friendship, but I won't be mad if you insist on paying for my dinner/ice cream/movie ticket/plane ticket. (Joking! What I mean is that I'd be fine if it turned into something more!) I like people who can make me laugh and have a sense of adventure. It helps if you like tea, coffee, and/or beer. As for traits that might make me turn away in disgust: religious fanaticism, vegetarianism, racism - or if you just take yourself too seriously. (Kidding about the vegetarianism. Kinda.)
