I feel kind of arrogant joining a site for smart people, but what the hell.
I like to consider myself a genuinely kind guy who is looking for that one special girl to share my future with. In truth I've had my share of personal problems in life and have gone through some tough times. But I'm working gradually to overcome them. I finally finished my bachelors degree a few months ago and am hoping to get a job in my field relatively soon. My ultimate goal though is to find somebody to love and who loves me. Work is only a means to that end.
I'm a pretty shy guy who generally prefers quiet, peaceful times at home or in nature over loud parties or cities or things like that. However, I'd be up for trying those things with the right person. I enjoy classical music and have been to some concerts and enjoyed them very much; I also like oldies and the Beatles. I love trees and plants and the woods, and cooking and gardening, and all that macho stuff. I'm interested in philosophy and the history of science. I'm a Boston sports fan, although I'm not as fanatical as I used to be. And I like watching old movies and listening to stupid political talk show hosts rant and rave. My sort of weird sense of humor will be gradually revealed as you get to know me.
As far as what I'm looking for, I don't care how much money you make or whether you're independent or have some "issues". You do have to be sympathetic and open-minded though. All the better if you're sort of weird or quirky.
