I'm a little bit of what-you-(may)-see-is-what-you-get. And that can be good faith without compromise and with few pretensions. I admire loyalty, kindness, compassion, decency, honesty, a simple courtesy. I hate falseness in all its forms, literal and metaphorical; to paraphrase the saying: 'The Truth may (occasionally) hurt, but not nearly as much as Lies.'
I may be a little hard on the outside, a little soft on the inside. I've seen a lot of life, and a lot of the world too; maybe too much, maybe not enough.
I love thoughts and dreams... the gentle and the strong, the subtle and the intricate.
They are important to me in my ways of understanding matters in exacting fields like engineering and physics, the fields in which I worked.
They are important to me too, in matters of the philosophical and the abstract. And, that can include music... be it Metallica, Mozart or a multitude of others. It is not just a question of light versus heavy, cheerful versus painful... but that which seeks to openly and freely embrace the 'Human Spirit'.
Of course, some may touch me deeply and some less so; but 'jazz' just ain't it... I can't stomach such stuff. To me, it's a four-letter word... it's like going into a cow-shed and listening to the smell.
I like my own company, but often, that's not enough. I like other people's too, but not just anyone's. I often long for the company of people with whom I can share thoughts and dreams. Without such people, it's easy to get 'lost'; sadly, there are so very few. If only I could find a few more...
I like being engaged, intellectually and emotionally. I like to develop understanding. I like to engage with people on a personal level, and not merely disappear into large or impersonal groups. And I love horses; I think some occasionally love me.
Over the years I've turned my attentions to dozens of interests and pursuits, ranging from Archery to Zen.
(That's at least one for each of ~17 letters of the alphabet... 8-)
Of the pursuits in which I have ever had an interest, most are things in which I did, or still do participate. Of these, none involve a ball.
Just as I keep my mind active, I keep myself physically active too; if one doesn't take care of the Temple, the Soul will rot away.

To find someone who I may actually meet in person would be an ideal, but due to the widely dispersed nature of people on this site, an unlikely one!
