Fairly recently I had read a piece of advice which felt as if it was targeted right at me. [Putting aside the fact that the advice is second hand and I discovered it in an interview with Demi Moore.] Here it is: “Don’t let your wounds make you someone you are not.”
Okay, so profundity can be found within the pages of Harpar’s Bazaar. Of course that is not my point. No, but I had stumbled on those words while overstaying my welcome in one emotional bomb shelter. And I’m made of tougher stuff – which I guess I had forgotten. [Thanks Demi!]
I am pretty well rounded, too. Albeit in a smallish circumference sorta way. Well behaved, I play nice with others. I would rather be thought of as kind and fairly compassionate first over any measure of intellect. Acting with both the mind and the heart in accord may be a tough objective but it's usually my mission, never the less.
I wanted to introduce myself as “a street walking cheetah with a heart full of napalm” – but I am not a plagiarist. Someone [well, I hope!] would have called me on that eventually.
So, who is it or what am I after?
I do enjoy a mischievous wit in a guy. At the very least, good humored.
I am drawn to the visual edge, and not those sofa size landscapes.
I am downtown, not uptown. Living in a smallish town, I feel slightly misplaced. On the fringe, if you prefer. Are you the fringe...? Some distance outside the box?
I have to wonder about people who list Honesty as a “must have” within their profiles. As if Dishonesty was to be assumed otherwise… I will say I appreciate someone who is direct, if only as a sign of mutual respect.
And being a direct type myself, if you are compelled to send me a message - then Thanks! But if your message is somewhat generic sounding in content, don't expect a reply from me.
